Three tech entrepreneurs win $3K at Pitch Tank
Three entrepreneurs walked away with $3,000 each after pitching their companies during the Dallas Business Journals’ first Entrepreneurs Connect Conference. The winner of the startup category was Rollout, which created software that allows contractors, architects and construction professionals to create, edit and view digital blue prints.

Rollout, founded in 2013 by Matthew Hinson, is planning to roll out its beta version in 2015. The company raised $350,000 in capital and has collected letters of intent from companies including Beck, Rogers-O’Brien Construction and Mario Sinacola Cos., which intend to use its software.
All three expert panelists on the startup panel listed Rollout as their top choice of the three startups that presented. That combined with audience vote sealed Rollout’s win. “It’s got a path of success,” said Trey Bowles, panelist and CEO of the Dallas Entrepreneur Center. “You’re trying a product directly in a market that solves a problem.” Kevin Vela, founding partner at Vela Keller PC, the Dallas Angel Network and the DAN Fund, said that Rollout was the most appealing company to his fund, given where it’s at in its capital raise, development and product life cycle. “I would pick rollout as well,” said Brian Shultz, CEO and founder of Studio Movie Grill. “Doing a lot of construction and understanding that need, I think it could save hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
