I live in Boston part of the year, and I can tell you, based on my drives around the area and walks around the city core and based on articles I’ve been seeing in the Boston Globe, the Boston market is already underway with its recovery from the doldrums the A/E/C Industry experienced here.
Within the past six months (perhaps a bit longer ago than that), we’ve put up articles on our blog about the recovery, now underway, in the Boston Metro Area real estate development market. The industrial edge of the South End near the Massachusetts Turnpike has long been on the cusp of transformation. But now, change appears to be happening even faster than city officials and residents could have ever hoped.
Anchored by the dramatic rebuilding of the former Boston Herald property, the corridor of blocks between Harrison Avenue and Albany Street could soon host more than 1,000 new units of housing, dozens of new storefronts, improved roads, and new smaller roadways and sidewalks carved out of the large industrial blocks that dominate the area.
