Should Reprographics 101 conduct another SURVEY?

As per requests from several blog-visitors recently.....

Should Reprographics 101 conduct another SURVEY?

I’ve received several e-mails, very recently, from reprographers who visit Reprographics 101 and from two “financial” industry people, who’ve suggested that Reprographics 101 conduct a survey of reprographers.

I’m only interested in conducting a survey if reprographers are willing to, and going to, participate in the survey, and, I mean a bunch, not just a few. The last time I conducted a survey of reprographers, it was like “pulling teeth” to get reprographers to participate. If my memory serves me correct, approximately 33 reprographers responded to the last survey we conducted. I was hoping to get over 100 participants, so achieving 33 was, to put it mildly, an abysmal turnout.

Part of the problem (lack of participation) is, I think due to two primary factors: 1) reprographers are kind-of-apathetic about participating in surveys, and 2) many who visit Reprographics 101, did not know that we were conducting a survey – admittedly, it’s not easy to find, on Reprographics 101, that a survey is underway. I think I have a way to fix problem #2, but I can’t fix problem #1, apathy.

Okay, now I’m going to ask for a “show of hands”.

If you feel that Reprographics 101 should put out another survey, then please post a “yes” in the comment section under this post. Also, if you do post a yes, then please also suggest “survey questions” that you would like the survey to ask.

Thank you.

    1. Has anyone out there returned to 2007 gross sales ?
    2. If so what services have made up the loss of wide format monochrome ?

  3. some of the questions proposed seem to touch very sensitive financial data - I doubt most of the companies would be willing to divulge such information.

As far as getting back to 2007 sales - I can't imagine it's possible even for 1 repro shop in the entire US market...I would love to be wrong though :)
